How is exact age calculated?
The calculator finds the difference between your date of birth and the target date, breaking it down into complete years, complete months, and remaining days — accounting correctly for varying month lengths and leap years.
Can I calculate my age as of a future or past date, not just today?
Yes — change the "Calculate Age As Of" field to any date, past or future, to see your age (or projected age) on that specific date.
Why does my age in months not match years × 12?
Total months lived is calculated as complete years × 12 plus the extra complete months — it will only equal years × 12 exactly if your birthday falls on the target date.
Does this account for leap years correctly?
Yes — the calculation is done using actual calendar dates (not a fixed 365.25 days/year approximation), so leap years are handled correctly.
Is my date of birth stored anywhere?
